It seems that instead of waiting the preferred month or so to dance again I might have to do this a lot earlier than planned. Like in the next week or so. Needless to say I'm terrified. Mostly because I'm afraid of looking like I don't know what the heck I'm doing because I don't but equally as scared because I do not have the body type IMO to do this. What clothing is out there to wear on stage (more or less the undergarments...thongs) that can be somewhat flattering to a person with a somewhat thicker mid section? Basically I have baby belly. Not too bad but enough for me to want to cover it up.

Thanks a million.

By the way, I found the slingshot I was looking for!

A lot of girls at my club opt for the black tube dresses if they're havin some belly (whether pre or post-baby). Then while they dance they just pull the top down under their breasts but still covering the stomach. It's sexy because the clothing is still on but you can see everything. Also, just confidence. My body type (without any babies at all) borders on being a wee too thick to be a dancer. But if you go up there with the attitude that you are a sexy beast, it shows on you and makes you mucho sexy. Alright.. enough of my rambling... I've gotta go to work! ^_^

Yeah that is true. I have seen skinny girls that aren't all that attractive because of the attitude and heavier ones that look *rawr* because of that aura of self confidence.

Thanks :)

No prob, and hey, good luck on your first night! (Best advice I got when I started was "Go slowly, the time passes faster if you move slowly and you look less awkward").. Of course, I think I look ridiculous anyways... it gets easier really fast after your first stage. Anyways.. right... working... *runs away*

Thanks. Unfortunately I think my first night will be tomorrow night. I haven't picked up the waitress thing and left after an extremely busy saturday night with $28.

Meep!

One of my friends at work-- mother of one-- wears a garter belt right below her belly button. I think it slims her a bit.

And I know you've heard this from everyone, but it's all just personality and attitude. If you're good at "hanging out," you'll do fine. So don't worry!

That's what I've been told. I'm actually starting up tonight. My husband helped me pick what works and what doesn't as for my outfits. He said to just get up there and keep in mind why I'm doing it...right now I'm not going to shoot high, I just want to take our daughter to the circus this weekend...simple enough.
